A SIMPLE, SECURE START

Set up with confidence.

Go at your own pace. Your Trezor device will guide you through the essential steps, while this page helps you know what to expect.

01

Prepare before you begin

Find a computer or mobile device you trust and a cable compatible with your Trezor. Check that your device and packaging appear untampered. Open a fresh browser window and type trezor.io/start yourself. Be cautious with search ads, messages, and links from strangers; look closely at the address bar to confirm you are on the official Trezor domain.

02

Connect and follow setup

Connect your device and use the prompts at Trezor Start to install or open Trezor Suite, the official app for managing your wallet. Follow the instructions shown in the app and on your device screen. Read each prompt, verify actions on the device itself, and install firmware only through the official setup flow. Never approve a transaction you did not initiate or understand.

03

Create a private backup

Your recovery backup is the key to restoring access if your device is lost or damaged. Write the words down exactly as your device displays them, then store the backup somewhere private and physically secure. Do not photograph it, save it in a file, share it with anyone, or enter it into a website, computer, or phone. Trezor Support will never ask you to reveal your recovery words.

THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE

Your recovery words are
for your eyes only.

Anyone who gets your recovery words can access the wallet they protect. Keep them offline and private. If a page, app, email, or person asks you to type them in or send them, stop. Real setup and support never need you to disclose the backup.
